Trumpeter/Composer Walter Henderson is one of Chicago's originals. Sought after as a skilled session man to many jazz ensembles, Henderson has come up with a great debut CD, "Schema," on his "Whist Lip" label. And what a debut is. Chief among trumpeters is the renowned, Walter Henderson. Whose crafted masterful credenzas amaze audiences every time he leans into the microphone. Hendersons' best work came in ballads, such as "I Remember Clifford" and a robustly contrapuntal version of "On a Clear day You Can See Forever" (in an arrangement by Chicagoan T.S.Galloway). |
